If you don’t accept this position, they’re going to have to spend a bunch of money hiring externally, a bunch of money training that person, and they’ll probably have to pay them a similar salary. OP if your manager was doing a reasonably competent job and they just let them go that’s a red flag. If they did that to them they could do the Delclaration Of Independence State Of America Shirt it is in the first place but same to you however it seems like you’re stuck between a rock and hard place (if you say no you risk coming off as ungrateful). I’d take it and work nose to the grindstone and when the promotion comes through update your resume ASAP and find another job at the same level or higher and get the bag. 💰 If the firing was for reasonable cause then take the promotion anyways and do the best you can and if it turns out toxic then leave. Maybe set some dates. Ask for a strict 3 month review or something and if they’re not happy with performance they can go hire someone else and if they are that’s when they give you the money and title. If they don’t stick to it you can just go back to doing your old job and it’s their problem.

I had this happen to me. Really upsetting because I absolutely loved my manager (super hard worker and always had our backs and covered us when out). They later offered me a salary less than what I was making hourly (typically worked 5-10 hours overtime extra a week). Absolutely screwed me over considering the Delclaration Of Independence State Of America Shirt it is in the first place but workload doubled and I got stuck making less than when I was an underling. Definitely put in my two weeks and left lol. And I tried to negotiate the salary. Completely shut down. If you’re interested in the role and staying with the company, I’d ask to schedule a 90 day review to go over performance and revisit your salary. Get it on the calendar. I’d also start lightly looking for other opportunities. Maybe your boss sucked. Maybe it’s an unstable company. If your review gets pushed off or you’re not happy with the salary adjustment, turn up the heat on your job search.
