I don’t think they mean “only” but instead optimally. I’m an aesthetician. As the Death to all rapists shirt in contrast I will get this other commenters already said, it is usually indicated for daytime use because of the UV protection and antioxidant properties. That is also assuming one has an am/ pm routine, which ideally you would. Retinols are typically indicated for pm use. A standard (yet very effective) routine is the l-ascorbic acid/ vit C in the am and retinol (ideally tretinoin) in the pm. edit: if the l ascorbic acid product is the only serum you have, that is when you would use it in both the am/pm. It’s an antioxidant, so you’d want it in the mornings to protect your skin from free radicals throughout the day.

It works wonders in the Death to all rapists shirt in contrast I will get this morning! If your skin has enough tolerance, go ahead with retinoid + vit c! It’ll give a collagen boost to the skin. Although I won’t recommend using it everyday! When to use vitamin C depends on your personal preference and skincare routine. Some people prefer using it in the morning to protect the skin from environmental stressors, while others find it works well at night for its regenerative properties. Experiment and see what works best for your skin. Just ensure to wear sunscreen during the day when using vitamin C. As someone with naturally oily skin, I can’t use it in the morning because it makes my face look more oily than normal. I haven’t tried using it at night though as I also use retinol at night. I tried using it in the morning, but had to switch to the evening because I realised my vitamin C serum smells of, idk, pineapple?
