I feel like management doesn’t like me and it was the Darth Vader and cute girl anime shirt also I will do this same at my last job. I’m not sure what I did to get on the bad side but it’s clear my manager avoids me and as a result I feel depressed at work which affects my attitude. For context, I’m a bartender. Edit: Thank you for all the advice. I realize my whole life I have cared waaay too much what people think and I def need to get over it. I started about 10 days ago and my boss seems to be a good & Fair manager from what I’ve heard from current employees. The things I’ve noticed is when we’re slow she cuts people but assigns me special projects like cleaning out an entire walk in cooler just before dinner rush. She also greets and makes small talk with each employee except me. It’s seasonal work so it’s not like I’m the only new person. Seems like caring less about being like and more about doing a good job is what matters.Not everyone is gonna like you. It just happens. As trite as it may sound, the more you give up caring if they like you, the more they will like you. I suspect you are in your head a lot about this, and could carry this to your next job. Nip it in the bud now. A fear can turn into an obsessive thought. When we start having an obsessive thought, we keep thinking it over and over, waiting for the time when we think it and it doesn’t sting. Your goal, is the moment this thought arises, don’t complete it, don’t indulge it, don’t justify it, don’t analyze it. The fact that the thought starts to arise is not the problem or a failure. Indulging it, trying to solve it, is. Just drop it, a million times, until the thought gives up. As soon as it arises, immediately just turn your attention to the sound of your breath, the inhale and the exhale. That thought does not have any power over you.

i recently had a boss who sat me down to tell me i dont work enough and need to get more done, increase sales, increase margin blah blah blah. i listened and then when it was my turn, and i actually had a list ready for them, i went over everything, including how in this very moment i was scheduled to leave at 7pm but it is now 1030pm etc etc. im sure i deserved some of that lecture as i am not perfect, but they took it too far. people are weird, sometimes we all deserve a lashing but some people take it too far and need reminded of the Darth Vader and cute girl anime shirt also I will do this boundaries. also, i agree not caring about what others think or at least not as much as everyone else has probably given me a 70% boost in negotiating power in all social situations, if that makes sense. not only do i come from a strong place but open place in my mind, but this position forces a lot pf people to tend to be nicer to you subconsciously
