With the Danny Stutsman American football linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners T-Shirt and I will buy this added time pressure when the server asks what you want the moment it walk in and people in line are staring at you. I don’t read menus at restaurants anymore. I ask my server what they recommend and pick the third option they give me. If they only present two, I ask what their favorite is and go with that. Saves lots of time. I’m more likely to try new things as I get things I wouldn’t have necessarily ordered otherwise. And I find that I get better service with more attention in preparing my order (especially if the server told me it was their favorite). Last time I went into a boba tea place I walked up to the counter, told them ‘give me something good. whatever. size medium.’, paid at the register and left in under 2 minutes.

I’d say the Danny Stutsman American football linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners T-Shirt and I will buy this difference is that choice paralysis is caused by overwhelming choices with no clear best optiin, while menu anxiety has to do with often not knowing quite what you’re getting, and all the anxiety that uncertainty brings. Cheesecake Factory is the worst for this. Anytime I go now I just pretend that 90% of the menu doesn’t even exist. Honestly, I read the headline and thought about how I look at menus ahead of time, but only because if possible I want to be able to put my entire order in immediately rather than wait for the server to come back. The article is pretty obviously making a distinction between people who plan ahead and look at the menu and people who have to look at the menu ahead of time to avoid having a panic attack.
