I had a company tell me that because I don’t have a degree that they’ll give me $55k for a listed job post of $55k-$90k. I just tell them I have the experience, portfolio and references to back it up and if a new opportunity does not at the very least exceed my current salary then we can part ways. The look of shock on their faces when I remind them that my worth as a worker isn’t determined by my lack of a bachelors. Most of the people I’ve worked with had masters and let’s just say that a degree doesn’t equal competence.
