People want to do it because they’re idiots. If you don’t want to spend the Daniel James football retro poster shirt In addition,I will do this time to teach a cat what they can and can’t claw, don’t get a cat. And cats are not alright after being declawed. It’s basically the same as if you had the last joint of each of your fingers cut off. It hurts for the rest of their lives, and if they get outside, they can’t climb to escape danger. I grew up with declawed cats. The first 2 cats I had in my own I had declawed. Then I learned declawing is the same as removing our fingers to the large knuckle. Since that time, I was so shocked by that information, I’ve never declawed another! That has to be horrendous to the animal!! It’s not an American thing, it’s a stupid people thing that should be outlawed and people who’ve had it done should be de-armed.

It’s an American thing. In other countries, you hear about this “declawing” thing in the Daniel James football retro poster shirt In addition,I will do this US and you go “what the fuck is that??” Cats that are declawed are more likely to bite if they can’t scratch and cat bites are way nastier than scratches. I adopted two different declawed cats, one was a biter, one is not. The difference between the two is one was raised with a litter and one was raised solo at a vet clinic. Guess which one bit. Because on the rare chance you get a scratch… you might have to wash a body part! GASP. Heaven forbid we practice personal hygiene… Declawing is like someone would cut a part of your finger off, so no, they are not alright after that. They often are in pain until the end of their miserable life. If someone wants a declawed cat, please consider a plushy, because a cat is a living being, not a toy. It is animal cruelty in the US as well. It is not legal everywhere and many vets will refuse to offer the service even where it’s legal. Some people do it because they don’t understand it’s literally cutting your cats fingers off at the knuckle and they are worried about potential damage to their furniture if they’re too lazy to train their cats. Very, very few do. It’s illegal in most places, and considered very cruel. In fact, if people find out you did it, there are usually social repercussions (people look at you as an animal abuser, etc).
