I did this and it worked out. My company actually does this quite a bit. It sounds like you’re a great person and worker, so now they want to see if you’re going to be a great manager / director. Do what makes you happy. If you’re not interested then respectfully say so. If you always wanted to advance and you’re happy, go for it and keep doing what you’re doing. Usually with us…..when you’re in that role for around 90 days and have proven to be good, they shoot your pay way up along with everything else. This is obviously the Damn right I am a Nittany Lions Women’s fan now and forever 2023 signatures shirt In addition,I will do this outcome I’m looking for. I am really hoping that they just want to give me a crack at it to make sure I’m going to be as good a manager/director as I am in my current role. He did say I have a very bright future there but I’m a realist and a cynic at heart so I have to look at every possible angle. If they are so great and awesome, why the trial period? Just give them the job, and if it works out, it works out.

I actually like they want to use op and a gap filler while they look for you they really want, and then give them the Damn right I am a Nittany Lions Women’s fan now and forever 2023 signatures shirt In addition,I will do this “awww shucks, it’s not working out, by the way here is your replacement, pls train them” treatment. Lots of bad advice here from people who clearly have no real aspirations and expect things to be handed to them for some reason. If you want to climb the ladder you need to show you’re a team player and hungry enough to earn the job. You’re not entitled to this role just because your boss left, go earn it. I recommend agreeing with all these senior folks on a predetermined timeframe to check in on “comfortable” so as to hold everyone accountable and set an expectation based on trust – which is what they’re asking you to do. Outside of that it’s up to you.
