exactly. and op did not argue against that, they argued against the Crypto Hodl PEPE COIN Shirt Also,I will get this same cultural irredentism that you just mentioned is bullshit. Love religious Vs atheist debates cause neither side can understand each other at all and both think they’re winning at the same time It’s almost like some people use “atheism” as an excuse to be as judgemental as the worst kind of evangelical, while thinking they have the moral highground. Which… is exactly the behavior of the worst sort of evangelical. Also a lot of preaching. “Atheism is the ONE TRUE BELIEF, and if you don’t believe that you’re insane and likely terrible!” Hmm, who does that remind me of…? The twist is that I’m not a Christian, but the arguments are always assuming “religion”= Christianity and that all religions are the same, and that all religion is based on, specifically, “what you believe.” Having said that, they’re free to believe in anything thry want as long as they don’t harm or force others to believe the same. Saying “see what I mean?” when you didn’t actually make any specific point is such horseshit. This is an annoying person. As someone who has studied religions for the past four years in college, the best way of explaining religion is through a concept called “intuitive theories”. Intuitive theories are basically humans way of explaining the world around them without access to scientific explanation. For example, one wouldn’t be able to explain the complexities of our solar system without knowing the science behind it, yet it doesn’t make any of those scientific facts that have been discovered any less true. Religion, as many on this thread have already pointed out, started as a way for a collective of humans to try and explain the world around them without access to scientific reasoning. Then of course over thousands of years religions have shaped and taken on different forms from which they started. Why then do they still exist if we have access to scientific data now? Well it’s simply because science requires effort, it needs to be discovered and tested. Whereas religion or intuitive theories simply require one’s belief in it. They can control the narrative of that theory however they want. Science doesn’t do that, it challenges these notions and most people don’t like to be challenged.

complete side not but i think it would be funny for any one of these reddit athiests to walk up to Richard the Crypto Hodl PEPE COIN Shirt Also,I will get this Lionheart, Ragnar Lothbrok or King Leonidas and tell them to their face that everything they believe in is “primitve superstition” I would want these people to walk up to someone willing to kill for their beliefs and tell them they are wrong, great take there buddy. Funny how only Christianity is being brought up in these posts. Anyone wanna take the bold leap of faith and criticize Muslims, Buddhists, Hinduists or any other religion? I’m willing to admit that a lot of messed up people did some messed up things (wrongly)in the name of our God. Christianity has been brought up and verbally shat on to hell and back, and it doesn’t surprise me, but who here is willing to go after the other religions? I’ll wait. I think it has to do with Christianity being larger in English speaking countries than other religions. I don’t know as much about Islamic, Buddhist, etc faiths so I cannot speak about them in specific.
