The narrower your field/search, and the more experience you have, the less you want to play the shotgun-your-resume-at-everything numbers game and the more you want to target specific jobs that you think will be a good fit. IMO. Buuuuuuut… if you just want to find something, casting a wide net can work. You’re probably being too picky (or not in the right geographical area for the work you want to do) if there were only 26 potential jobs you could apply for in 6+ months. Or you’re trying to do something very niche. If the jobs aren’t there, maybe you have to think about changing roles/careers. I will say that if you’re getting interviews, and feel like those interviews went decently well, that’s a good sign. That means you’ve got a shot and you just need to keep trying. Try to get some advice on your resume and how to tailor it to the jobs you want. You also don’t have to meet 100% of the requirements to apply to things, at least if you have some moderately relevant experience.

Edit: saw in another reply you’re trying to do commercial real estate… that’s probably fucked, at least where you are. Either pivot to something else that can use your skills, or consider going back to school for an MBA or something and hope the Cowboy Country Western Tee Shirt but in fact I love this job market is better when you graduate. Requirements in a job listing are really more of a wish list for the employer, not actual requirements. Even stuff like education, they’ll make exceptions if you have other stuff on your resume that they like. Very few employers expect an applicant to fulfill more than 60-70% of the tasks/skills they list. Hell, if you have good people’s skills and can write very good cover letters you may get away with 40-50%. Regardless, if you fit the role in a general sense and have the required skills in a general sense… take the shot.
