The thing I noticed about this post is that no one seemed to be making any distinction between religion and Christianity I cannot believe how fundamentally daft the Courtney barnett sonoma on november 6 2023 event poster shirt Additionally,I will love this commenters here have been, trying to pontificate one way or the other and not seeing that this is blatant troll bait. Tumblr OP is clearly not pushing an agenda, this is very clearly them being silly/an act of trolling, and considering how blatantly silly his argument is in the first post, it’s likely OP is himself an atheist who’s getting a kick out of a childish joke. It’s not like atheists won’t get these bullshit responses even when just talking about Christianity. “Oh, the theology is actually incredibly sophisticated and nuanced, you just don’t get it.” I mean calling a religion primitive superstition is something highly religious people do all the fucking time, atheist just say it about all of them instead of all but one

Now I appreciate religion in the Courtney barnett sonoma on november 6 2023 event poster shirt Additionally,I will love this same way people who move to Australia learn to appreciate spiders, yeah that hand sized hairy brown spider on your wall looks scary but don’t hurt him, he’s your buddy, your pal, your new roommate. What I would give to go back to the days of the “satanic panic” over D&D and heavy metal, at the time I thought religion was everything wrong with the world, I had no idea we had it so good. It ISNT that atheists have a shallow concept, it’s that they have no respect for the community benefits that arise out of shared delusion. by definition it’s primitive; the language Christ and his contemporaries spoke predates English by a few hundred years Though the “see what I mean” guy is strawmanning as well. There are many atheists who have that opinion of religion, founded or unfounded, but really all you require to be an atheïst is to answer “no” to the question “do you believe there is a god?” Your reason for giving your no is completely irrelevant. Atheism has no overarching doctrine and atheists are not a coherent group. Even answering “I don’t know” to the questoin “do you believe there is a god?” can make you an atheïst, depending on where you draw the line. You people refuse to believe in a God or other Higher Being. Thats ok. That’s your choice. Nobody is mocking your beliefs or anything the way you mock religious people.. But you ALSO believe that the Universe emerged from a Singularity during the Scientifically backed event of the Big Bang, which states that everything in existence emerged from a single particle. (Leaving open to question as to how did that particle exist in the first place without explanation and that POSSIBLY a multiverse may exist. Also failing to explain how and where THAT came from and how IT came to exist.)
