Dad remember when Luke went down the Connor Hellebuyck American professional ice hockey goaltender Winnipeg Jets T-Shirt but in fact I love this Death Star trench and shot the torpedo and got it in the hole? Now I know what that feels like grandpa 👴 Give them cues. Don’t tell them cringingly or apologetically. This is a planned pregnancy, so it’s good news, so present it that way. They might. But if they do, you can say, “Well we’re thrilled about it, and if you can’t be happy for us, please just don’t comment at all.” And then if they persist, you can walk out, go home, hang up the phone, etc. You don’t have to just sit there and let them berate you. You’re an adult. Honestly, the majority of pregnancies are unplanned!!! Mazel tov, you get to be a daddy to two unplanned children! As likely as not, you’re taking care of your first child by paying child support and doing the right thing by that child, as well as being able to support this second child, you’re solid. If not, you need to serious take a look at who your are as a man and a father. Are you here to plant the seeds all over, or are you here to tend the vines? I would wait dude. My sister told our parents she was pregnant and then she had a miscarriage, so like what was the point? Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched. its best to just rip the bandaid off. positive or negative, if you are in the mindset to create a loving family, their reaction will not matter in the grand scheme of things. it will all be temporary.

Weird question but how do you plan a pregnancy and not a marriage? You don’t need a whole wedding to get married and it sure will make it easier to say such news if you were married.. Parent here. Just tell them. And give them some grace. You have had time to wrap your heart and mind around this. You’ll be seeing their very first response. Congratulations BTW! Yes. Just tell them. I don’t know your parents (I don’t think) but most would be quite accepting of their adult child’s baby. You are probably overthinking it. I expect back 5-6 years ago your situation was different so your parents may have initially acted upset/concerned, etc. It is different now, you have been a parent for years and you and your spouse are older and more settled. I would tell them in a celebratory way maybe with a card or a cake or something.
