Look this is funny and all, but every day that books are being kept out of libraries is another IQ point lost from the Comfort Color Dumbledore Remembrance Shirt and I will buy this children who need them so can we just stop doing this performative idiocy and just stop with the radical book banning bullshit already When you though you were living in 1984, but in reality you were making Fahrenheit 451 happen in your life instead. The Brooklyn Library is launching a major initiative to get digital copies of banned books into the hands of teens. Say no. They can pay you right now. The budget just opened up. Never ever take on more responsibilities or more work without more pay. They’re comfortable enough to give you the Comfort Color Dumbledore Remembrance Shirt and I will buy this assignment but not comfortable enough to give you the title or the $$…. Hmmmm Add that to your resume and start looking immediately. I had a somewhat similar experience but I didn’t get promoted for 2 years and the raise felt like a slap in the face Don’t do it. Either the title and pay come with the increased responsibility or nothing at all. I would ask for a new employment contract outlining the new pay terms and responsibilities. No. Someone else is trying to look good to their superiors by saving money by getting you to do the job for less with less staffing. If you do the work, you get the pay, or you don’t do the work. I watched my company tick off my entire tier of management, they all quit, and the solution was “promoting” employees to “supervisors” who would do the job of said managers for less pay and save them new hires. Yeah this sounds like a great way to double someone’s workload for free. If they were being genuine they would’ve just offered you a promotion. An actual one, not an imaginary “just do all the work as if you’ve been promoted, and maybe one day in the very distant & vague future we will make it real”. Sounds more like they plan on using you as a temporary stopgap on the cheap
