I was strung along for half a year as the Baby Yoda I’m Always Forced To Do Things That I’m Not Qualified For Shirt What’s more,I will buy this “interim” supervisor at my former job before they finally broke down to offer me the position officially because they could not find anyone remotely qualified to run the team. When they tried to just give it to me I started to hint at the idea of no longer being interested in the position as it seemed like a lot of responsibility for what I was currently making. The panic in their faces was pretty comical but ended up asking what it would take to get me to take the spot. Told them I wouldn’t touch it for less than 20% more than I am currently making. They approved it immediately with an offer letter the next day. So they want you to take on a role with more responsibilities, but not pay you accordingly? Sounds fishy to me in the least. I’d respond to HR and management that I would only be ‘comfortable’ to perform in said function in return for a certain pay increase. As others have said, you can apply certain conditions or milestones and I’d also include a clause in which both parties can opt-out and rewind to the previous situation. Make sure everything is set in a legally binding contract.

Chances are you are being used as an intermediary until they have found a new person for the Baby Yoda I’m Always Forced To Do Things That I’m Not Qualified For Shirt What’s more,I will buy this function, but as long as you are taking on extra responsibilities you should be eligible for a salary that equals that of your old boss and you would not have to attend to your previous job as well. And if things go well, and you meet all requirements, you should renegotiate and ask them for a permanent appointment on this new function. Good luck! Agreed with the responder who said “get them to put that ish in writing”. But congratulations though! Secure your bag, and don’t let them okeydoke you. Get clear expectations and success criteria from your bosses. Ask how they will track your and your teams progress, ask for weekly 1:1 meetings with management and get a mentor
