Right. Everyone acting like the Cleveland Browns Est 1946 National football League shirt also I will do this employee’s being made to work off the clock but in reality they’re just being penalized with a loss of as-yet-unrealized PTO for violating their be-in-the-office rule. If their policy is you have to spend x days in the office, not just on the clock, to earn y hours of PTO, that’s a shitty policy but it’s legal. yes, It does make a diff. If the employee is hourly they must be paid their hourly wages. Pto isn’t wages. It’s an accrued benefit) Per New Jersey law) This is so fucked…this is worse than volunteering (working for free). They are literally charging employees to work. Someone needs to kick that manager straight in the balls Not at all legal! You can’t be forced to work when you are ‘off’ and that’s basically what he’s making his employees take leave but still work!!!

Are they getting paid for 8 hours of time off plus the Cleveland Browns Est 1946 National football League shirt also I will do this hours they worked? Or are they not being paid for the hours they worked? Call the department of labor and let them Straighten your employer out. They may also make the pay anyone who used their vacation time and make them give their vacation time back. I had an employer try to say if we didn’t put down 8 hours of work on our time cards that we wouldn’t get paid for the missing hours. We punched in and punched out and listed all the jobs we did during the day. DOL came in and said as long as we punched in at the beginning of the day and punched out when we leave, that was all we needed and they must pay us for the time we are there. They cannot deduct any hours even if we didn’t put anything else down.
