When I moved out, I didn’t know how to do laundry or cook. So what did I do? I looked up instructions online like a self-sufficient adult. How do these people survive if they can’t… learn? You’re not dating a man, you’re just taking in another child ? even if you’re in a relationship, you’ve got to have some form of autonomy because it just becomes codependent at that point. Like, I’m pretty useless in the Childhood Cancer Awareness Costume Ribbon Feather Faith T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this kitchen. I can at least make breakfast (though I feel like I can never get the bacon quite right.) I can also make simple dishes. Even my BIL, who found a way to catch a pot of water on fire (specifically the noodles caught fire… On an electric stove,) is more resourceful than this man. If he can’t grow up, he deserves to live the rest of his days in his parent’s basement. If they’ll have him. I wouldn’t. My husband didn’t cook when we got together. But he learned, because cooking isn’t a secret mystical gift you’re born with, it’s a skill, and we can learn skills. I get infuriated at people that have some “pride” that they can’t cook. As a human you have to eat multiple times a day…fucking learn how to cook. It doesn’t have to be gourmet but I know children who can manage eggs and bacon. And while it would also be good if he wasn’t a lazy slob in every other area of life and helped out, the fact that he can’t manage a simple breakfast and needed a “break” while doing so makes me think he’s just looking to live with his mother for the rest of his life. Good riddance.
