I agree with all of these answers but I’ll speak to my experience working in a pharmacy. I would say about 80% of our “problem” patients are boomers (the Cheer Mom Football Cheerleading Cheer Women Messy Bun Leopard Sunglasses T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this other 20% are middle aged Karens). Entitled, impatient, and just plain rude. Most of the issues that arise are issues with their doctor or insurance. But they take it personally and act like we just don’t want to give them their medication. They are completely ignorant to how the system works but treat us like we’re absolute idiots. My team is very good and most of our techs and pharmacists have been doing this job for 20+ years, but entitled boomers act like they know better. I know it sucks when insurance won’t cover a medication but we’re literally just relaying the message and they take it as a personal insult.

Pulled the ladder up right behind them. A lot of people are talking about the socioeconomic advantages and biases of the Boomers but so far I haven’t seen anyone talk about the other half of why Boomers are garbage people: They absolutely refuse or are completely inept at adapting to the times. For whatever reason they just almost universally seem unable to accept new ideas, concepts, technologies, and help themselves. Whether it’s critically thinking about conspiracy theories, or even just trying to find out if something they knew as a teenager was still true. They use the excuse that they didn’t grow up with things like identity politics or computers but that’s all bullshit because even as a 29 year old myself I didn’t have so much of what we have today and yet I still kept innovating upon myself and keeping up. It’s just a sheer laziness. They’re all a bunch of ass-backwards lazy bigots who hoard their wealth and gawk at anyone who can’t make it like they did.
