It was probably only even named Fort Bragg to spite Lost Cause mythology scapegoat James Longstreet who was also fro NC but was actually competent but became a supporter of post-war reconstruction. I was going to get on here and say that the Cheech & Chong 53 Years 1971 – 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt and I will buy this name shouldn’t have been a problem because Bragg was an absolutely awful general but it seems almost 500 people beat me to it. Why it’s taken this long to change the name of a fort that was named for an insurrectionist is astounding. I also shudder to think people would name something after Trump. Nope, whoever’s leading the police union back then says “Nah, there is no white nationalism in the police department”, and lo and behold. Look what happens nowadays.

Cheech & Chong 53 Years 1971 – 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

You would expect it to happen sooner and give a real name, considering the Cheech & Chong 53 Years 1971 – 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt and I will buy this number of poor and black people serving. It’s called military service because members sacrifice some of their own liberty to protect the liberty of the people of the nation they serve. It’s not a training post. They do train there, but it’s an active duty, non-TRADOC specific post. You’re a silly billy that’s reaching for outrage porn. As a resident in the area, I absolutely hate the name change. I think they either should have kept it Fort Bragg, but just changed it from Braxton Bragg’s name to his cousin’s who was a Union officer and later member of Congress, or to Fort Omar Bradley, since he did command the 82nd Airborne. My preference would have been Bradley but keeping it Bragg but changing who it is named after would’ve been a real quick fix.
