Is your mother in law going to take you in when you lose your home? If not, then she should advocate for an affordable home? A lot of my friends bought fixer uppers and renovated. Gentrification is the Charmander Charmeleon and Charizard fire evolution painting shirt Apart from…,I will love this way to get value, sad as that might be. Also I just had a convo with a homeowning friend a few days ago along these lines. Wife/mom may be symptoms of not adapting to the new market. My friend owns a 550k house, but we were reminiscing about how when we were in our 20s the idea of a half-mil house was the sort of really nice house you can’t get for less than 750k now. His house is certainly comfortable, but is not 500k fancy like in the 00s. I dealt with this when I was buying a home too. They would always say something like “oh it’s just to give you ideas” or “I just like this part of it”

I eventually had to tell them that all these listings were showing me is that the Charmander Charmeleon and Charizard fire evolution painting shirt Apart from…,I will love this things they liked are out of our price range. Yeah, I would love a ton of land with a beautiful creek in the back yard but it turns out those things drive up prices just like that massive kitchen you sent me or that 3 story living room with lake views. Nice things cost money. So quit sending me nice things and expecting me to find them for pennies on the dollar. Just accept that some nice things aren’t going to happen for us right now. I think that your frustration comes, in part, from thinking that your wife’s expectations are far above what the reality is. You should confirm with her that she understands the top price, and that she fully agrees with that in order to work on the same team. Also, don’t lose the lesson… when she sends you these listings, ask what specifically she likes about it. There may be elements that you can find in less expensive listings, or elements that can be added in at a smaller scale that would be acceptable. No sense buying a 800K place and finding out that she just really liked the dog wash in the laundry room. Maybe take some notes on the elements that she really likes.
