I’ve been trying to write a response for a few minutes and all I can say is my stance on this matter mirrors yours almost exactly. Though it took me a bit longer to change. The only shooting I really do now is hunting. I have a safe full of guns and my shotgun and deer rifles are the Cats Make Me Happy Humans Make My Head Hurt Cat shirt besides I will buy this only ones used. I look at the AR-15 I built and think of kids being massacred…our society is so broken. Same. I have one AR-15, haven’t shot it since the Vegas shooting. I know that at the back of the safe it’s not in the wrong hands. I literally have a ladder of handloads for it I loaded 7 years ago that haven’t been shot. Can’t even bring myself to process 5.56 brass. Many, if not the overwhelming majority of us tend to have very binary patterns of thinking when we’re younger. God knows I did. Once life knocks you around some, you realize just how every situation has so many variables that it’s almost impossible to make sense of it all.

I’m with ya. People will jump in this post and dog him out, but we should be happy he had the Cats Make Me Happy Humans Make My Head Hurt Cat shirt besides I will buy this awareness to change and grow. Makes sense. The guy sees the same stuff he’s selling being used to massacre children and he doesn’t want to take part in it. “But when you order 4,000 rounds, the kind of stuff that goes through engine blocks, refrigerators and vests that police officers wear, I just can’t sell that,” he said. There are genuine hobbyists and sports shooters out there. But the market is geared toward preppers and wannabe Rambo’s. I can see how a shop owner could look up and realize their old passion has turned into a modern curse. I hope more see it. That’s actually a fairly new phenomenon that started around when Obama was elected. All of this tactical gear and paramilitary shit was a very specific demographic and you didn’t really see so much of it before then. You can see a direct correlation of when the GOP started ramping up their scare tactics and the proliferation of advertising for military-style gear. And now it’s like a fucking rule that if you’re a Republican you own at least an AR-15 and a plate carrier. It’s marketing. Cynical mark ting aimed at stupid people. I wonder what your typical weekend technical warrior pays for his full costume. I think the timing has more to do with the first waves of vets coming home from full tours in Iraq and Afghanistan than anything.
