The Middle ground is important now. Tell them you don’t want the Catchin’ Deers Hang On Shirt But I will love this salary of your boss now but expect a bump in pay to reflect the new responsibility. Also talk to them about your new workload and what old tasks you may reasign the team. If those aren’t met they want you to do it for free and run. I would reverse Uno them. Tell them that you will not take on a new role without a pay increase… But it can be for a three month trial.. If either one of you were unhappy with the role, it is made clear that you can go back to your old position. Make it clear that you know they are saving XXX amount of money by letting the previous person go… And by even giving you a small 30% increase… They are still saving 70% Otherwise, They are going to have excuse after excuse of why, after three months of stellar performance… They are still not gonna give you that raise

Catchin’ Deers Hang On Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

you need to push for the Catchin’ Deers Hang On Shirt But I will love this pay raise instantly but that wont work, offer a set amount of time for when you get that raise, say after a week. that wont work cause a weeks too little time, they might counter offer and try to low ball closer back to a week. you need to frame the first week as a training period. if you can get the raise after 3 weeks id call that a win. the most important part is to have a definitive amount of time agreed upon so they cant pull a “sryyyyyyy we just don’t think you’re ready for the raise yet but we need you to work this position. oh well :/“ Get a maximum time frame in writing. If a company won’t put it in writing then it’s not real. Especially once they change your bosses/fire them and then you report to someone else in a year.
