Good point. I respect you for that. To be fair, I did mention that my evidences are purely anecdotal and hopefully it’s not representative of the Carlos Sainz 2023 F1 Era Eras Tour shirt and I will buy this larger populous. Good chat tho. I have uncles who live in Bhopal, only met them once… They’re super nice, but at the same time literally the most Hindutva people I’ve ever met. Mate, I am Indian according to my passport. Also, if something / someone is shittier than you, that’s not really a standard to hold up to and say oh I am not the problem. You are playing straw man argument here. Question was about MP, you made it about caste and now beating around the bush. Is casteism felt across India? – yes. It’s how prevalent, common and by what degree it’s felt is moot point here. Most of the urban places or cities, are known to be least casteist. What you felt in Bhopal, could be the case with Lucknow or Hyderabad. I once was asked what caste I was from when I went looking to rent a place to stay in a city I was new to (one of the liberal urban spaces). I don’t know how the casteism is in MP, but going by your answers and knowing a bit about your experiences, I presume even you won’t know.

Often, people from a caste or jaati or Varna, which are ‘considered’ upper don’t realise about how bad casteism could be, as they won’t face discrimination. It’s not only about when a person asks for your last name or knows about it. People from what’s considered a lowered caste, have been living in separate spaces than others if the Carlos Sainz 2023 F1 Era Eras Tour shirt and I will buy this city existed before independence – only cities like Bhubaneswar or Chandigarh don’t have these separate spaces. If they have it’s more on economic class lines. Have you ever been scolded/abused because you touched a bore well? Asked about your caste before entering a temple or looking to rent a place? And many more things. Not questioning your intent, but you my friend aren’t aware of how casteism is deeply entrenched in many aspects of Indian life.
