I worked in a restaurant when doordash first started popping up. Rude drivers were there since day 1, no worries. I’ve worked at a Subway for a short while, and Doordashers really fuck up orders. We prepare the sandwhich, chips, cookies, everything is in an easy to carry bag. We set the empty drink cups up beside it, no lid no straw. It’s the ONE thing doordashers are supposed to do because Doordash doesn’t want us to set the drink up before someone picks it up. Over half the time we have to shout at the drivers to not forget the fucking drink. The other half dart out regardless and WE get the complaint levied against us. We can only put out so many signs just for doordashers. It’s infuriating.

Ever since then, many of those restaurants now treat the rest of us like potential thieves. All this because ONE PERSON stole from them. The ironic thing is that when restaurants treat ALL drivers as potential thieves, many of the honest people won’t put up with that level of disrespect, and leave. And once you drive away all of the honest respectable drivers, all that you are left with is the less professional drivers and thieves. I barely use doordash to drive anymore unless shit is really tight financially. It’s insane how bad it’s gotten and how oversaturated the market for drivers is. I live in one of the most crime-ridden cities filled with thugs and idiots, and it seems like any old person with 2 brain cells and a semi-functioning vehicle can be a driver This fall a DoorDash driver stole my six year old daughter’s birthday cake. Another one full on ate half of my sister in law’s order….we only use Uber eats right now but even then I have almost completely stopped using it.
