Found this video of the Calories and little creatures that wreak havec your clothes T-Shirt and I will buy this original broadcast. No modern day narration or bullshit. It even starts upside down Technically, the ‘bottom’ of the camera was oriented more towards the Earth, since they landed on the side of the moon facing the Earth. The astronauts heads were closer to the Earth than their feet; so they were the upside down ones, depending on perspective. Because such a specialised customised camera was expensive, when the astronauts practised outside they only used a wood mockup of the camera. Apollo 12 – astronaut Alan Bean accidentally points the camera at the sun and destroys it. It wasn’t a topic that had ever come up in training.

Isn’t this pretty much the Calories and little creatures that wreak havec your clothes T-Shirt and I will buy this precursor to “We’ve got microscopic life forms detected”. Water was always the one thing they needed to find for sure, right? Lol maybe their PR department is, but leadership knows it’s cheaper to continue terrestrial exploitation than get a damn space program going. In all seriousness it would be great if we could source our resources from the solar system instead of taking it from the planet If there’s one thing we know about humans as a species, it’s that we excel at going through crises and learning nothing. Asteroids are almost all silicate and metals with very little if any ice snow or water on them. It’s theorized they have small pockets of water ice under their surfaces but was almost thought to be non existent on the surface of asteroids due to solar radiation hitting virtually all of their surfaces overtime because asteroids don’t have a set rotation on an axis. however this discovery shows that water can be on the surface of asteroids. Actually, not really. It used to be thought “stuff inside the ice line has no volatiles and is asteroid, stuff outside is lots of volatiles and is comet.” But over the past 10-15 years we’ve discovered that it’s more of a sliding spectrum – stuff that we used to 100% agree “that’s an asteroid” has a composition such that it would grow a coma and tail if it got close to the sun, and some stuff that formed in the Oort cloud and has long periods is very rocky.
