Be firm and clear. “I will not accept an indefinite not-so-quiet promotion.” If you feel comfortable with it you can offer them a set trial period, say a month, at which point either you’ll stay in your current role or take on the Call My Lawyer Yoono shirt and I will buy this promotion in full. Otherwise, only accept if you are brought up to your new role’s full title and status the day you start doing it (and don’t start doing it until you are). Again, be firm but not hostile in these assertions. Keep your tone calm and mostly level. Avoiding snarky tones and angered body and tonal language. Like a narrator who knows how to make narration sound interesting even though the topic isn’t. Get it in writing. Make them commit to a 90 day plan or something. If they won’t, you’ll have a real answer, and go ahead and say yes to get the experience and meanwhile start looking for a new job.

Call My Lawyer Yoono shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I have never once had an employer fully follow through on verbal promises, even if every discussed milestone was achieved. If you don’t get it in writing, there’s not much you can do to protect yourself. I agree with the Call My Lawyer Yoono shirt and I will buy this others. Take the “promotion” and update your resume with the new role. Start looking for a new position. Research what the market says an appropriate salary is for your “new role.” And use that as your starting base. If the old company asks what they can do to keep you, add another $15k above the salary and ask them to match. If you go through with this.. Ask for CLEAR and PRECISE milestones/goals that you need to achieve. Get a list of job duties and say you want everything in writing and progress reports when you do achieve those milestones and goals. Ask for a specific review window. get it in writing, get a date down that will be the assessment time, get expectations for what your pay and title will be upon that time.
