You can’t figure it out because it’s all complete nonsense dreamed up by a straight man with really bad taste in clothes 40 years ago. I tried following the California The Best State Palms Tree Vintage Summer T-Shirt But I will love this advice for a while a few years ago when I was kind of lost with my style direction and it turns out the venn diagram of things I like and things it told me to do is two circles very far away from each other lol. At least I learned something I guess, but it’s v embarrassing to admit I was temporarily convinced to avoid patterns and frills by something that sounds like phrenology. No typing system is perfect, and not everyone fits neatly into boxes but there are certain things in Kibbe that work because they have good synergy with each other. If you’re feeling a few of them, treat them like advice and try them out to see how you feel about them. It just sounds like an identity crisis to me. Whenever I read discussions about it, people sound like they need labels to feel like they belong to something or fit in somewhere.

Are you looking for high end brands that don’t have labels or are you looking for just higher quality clothing in general? All these brands I’ve personally gotten well made clothes from. Really well made out of good materials like wool, silk, etc. That’s going to cost you, though. Most of these you can go try on at a high end department store. I was tempted to name Theory and Paige as well, but sometimes they’re a bit hit or miss. I think they rely more on their name than the California The Best State Palms Tree Vintage Summer T-Shirt But I will love this quality at times Alice + Olivia quality can be absolutely garbage. I’m sure some of their stuff is good (and all of it looks stunning style-wise), but they also do not stand behind their products at all. One example out of several: I have a brand new sweater with a random section that absolutely fell apart under my fingers, like paper thin threads. I assumed it was a manufacturing defect and tried to return it. Ignore this if you don’t want a rant, but I figured NBD, most brands would take it back no problem. When I called, I talked to the person who enthusiastically sold it to me and she completely switched to this odd, patronizing, defensive mode. She told me she helped me try it on, so I had an opportunity to see the damage (which didn’t exist yet), asking with a horrible tone “is it on the front?” yes, “did you look in the mirror?” yes, “well then it sounds like it’s not our fault because the damage happened after you left the store and when you left it was not damaged”. Yes, it did happen after I left, and I was upfront about that. If their quality was so amazing and this was just a fluke, there’s no way I could’ve managed to put a hole in this sweater by just touching it, and by the way she was so ready for a fight, it seemed like this was pretty common.
