I’m convinced we are told so many things that are wrong and that’s why so many young Americans are having mental health issues. We were told all our lives one “truth” only to learn none of it was actually true. You don’t need to have a credit score to do things. You don’t need to get married or stay single for that matter to be happy. There is no one size fits all. We are unique and different. Society tries to fit all of us into some box but you simply can’t because not all of us are designed to fit into those roles. The truth is that a college education truly only benefits about 20% of people, yet we push and push college as the Buterfly They Whispered Her Cannot She Whispered I Am The Storm Arteriovenous Malformation Awareness T-Shirt in contrast I will get this end all, without any real guidance. It shows them an entire industry within their master that they may have never considered before. Like anything else, it requires a lot of research. Opening a business also “opens doors” to more wealth. But the opposite can happen too. It can leave u in mountains of debt because it failed. I think it comes down to researching what degrees have a lot of versatility, and the need for it in todays society. An example would be math Vs biology Vs art… out of these 3 math is the most versatile, you can go into engineering, architecture, investing, gov research, etc. Biology, you would think it’s a good degree bc it’s STEM, and it kinda is in my opinion, but it’s just not as versatile. You’re closed off to just the science sector, so if that industry is doing bad and not experiencing growth, then it’ll hurt you. Sorry for art folks but you know what I will say. Statistically has one of the worst outlooks and lowest salary expectations consistently. Not to say it’s impossible to make money with an art degree. Pairing it with some type of business venture is what brings that salary up, but not all of us have the wealth to begin a business or the mind to make the business succeed.
