A higher percentage of jobs now require a degree, but that is simply because they can (oversupply). Front line retail management jobs, admin/secretary jobs, etc…now often require college degrees simply because they can. But most people aren’t going to college thinking about landing that Housewares Asst Manager job at Target. Truly desirable, white collar professional jobs that are the Buterfly They Whispered Her Cannot She Whispered I Am The Storm ARDS Awareness T-Shirt in contrast I will get this target of college students don’t exist in numbers equaling 35% of the population. Not everyone can have a corner office and a company car. Because it isn’t the rule. I’m in my 30’s now but when I was younger in high school we were always told that you have to go to college if you want a good job. That if you don’t have a degree you can’t make good money and that simply isn’t true. There are blue collar jobs that require no kind of degree and they pay way more than most people think. For example in the oilfield you can easily make $100k/year and you don’t need to work so hard to achieve that.

Something else I was always told is you need to move out of your parents house when you graduate or else you’re a loser. Many Asian and European countries do not leave their family home just because they’re going to university. Living with a relative (if you have that option) is a great way to save money and be able to save for your own home. I would much rather be a homeowner in my Buterfly They Whispered Her Cannot She Whispered I Am The Storm ARDS Awareness T-Shirt in contrast I will get this early 20’s than rent my whole life. Here’s another thing that we were told, you have to start thinking about what you want to do when you grow up. Once you graduate and start college you need to have some sort of idea what you’ll want to do. Back to other countries though, most have their kids go have fun and tour wherever they want. Life is about experiences. How can anyone expect an 18 year old to know what they’re going to want to do. I always wanted to do law enforcement and now I’m so glad I didn’t. I would’ve been miserable doing that. I’m still able to help others but I’m doing it in a different way.
