I say this only because engaging with the Buckeyes Ohiostate Shirt But I will love this Supreme Court specifically and the anti-abortion movement writ large on the basis of their presented arguments is an exercise in futility that threatens to distract from the issue at hand, which is the subjugation of women and other marginalized and minoritized people. It doesn’t matter if Alito thinks the founding fathers wouldn’t have recognized the right to abortion, because Alito doesn’t care what the founding fathers think. Originalism itself is against the founding fathers’ express wishes. Pointing out conservative hypocrisy that tries to strip pregnant people of their healthcare while also forcing them to give birth is pointless. The CORE of these arguments is to remove as much legal autonomy over the bodies and physical and legal circumstances as is possible and then, by extension, any other group granted rights under the law.

Buckeyes Ohiostate Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Once we stop pretending that any of them actually care about or believe their own arguments, we can unite around and focus on what the Buckeyes Ohiostate Shirt But I will love this actual threat is, which is nothing more than full scale assault on the wider interpretation of human rights that this country has been fighting for and simultaneously fighting against since the civil war. And the thing is, law, tradition, whatever is on their side. It’s more often been legal and acceptable to gran autonomy and human rights to a small segment of society while subjugating others than it has been otherwise. So when someone brings up originalism, the answer isn’t to prove abortions have always been legal, it’s to fight for the society we want right now on our own terms.
