Merchant ships were the Brock Purdy American football quarterback San Francisco Purdy Nice T-Shirt Besides,I will do this most sunk ships of WW2 by far. Japan lost 2346 merchant ships, accounting for a majority of the 3057 ships they lost overall. Due to the nature of WW2 naval combat, submarines and aircraft were the attacking forces. The surface combat vessels were defensive forces. It makes logical sense that submarines would be responsible for sinking a lot of ships, that was their job. And Japan had a much, much larger navy than of any of the other Axis powers during WW2. Combined with poor ASW practices, lack of resources put towards dedicated ASW ships, and technological inferiority compared to the US navy, the Japanese suffered greatly from the US submarine campaign. I mean we don’t wanna forget the hunt for Bismarck…… you sink the flag ship of the British navy well you might as well invade Russia while your at it

German’s submarine fleet was totaled by Fletcher Class destroyers and DEs in the Brock Purdy American football quarterback San Francisco Purdy Nice T-Shirt Besides,I will do this Atlantic, allowing shipping to get through Of the U-boats, 519 were sunk by British, Canadian, or other allied forces, while 175 were destroyed by American forces It was the most successful submarine campaign in human history and largely accomplished doing to Japan what the U-boat campaign failed to do to Britain. The reason why the U-boat campaign in the Atlantic has a more prominent place in popular memory is that the press in London, Washington D.C., or New York often did not report on the successes of U.S. submarines in the Pacific for operational security reasons. There was no such concern about the activities of Axis submarines of course, so they were reported on extensively. In contrast the Allied submarine campaign in the Pacific was much more out of sight and out of mind.
