The fact that this got 4500 upvotes is pretty disheartening. r/tumblr thinks this is helpful discourse or witty and not just some kid trolling? I mean, not to be rude but, I think we just need to look at how OP styles their avatar to get a good idea of their personality. You mean it’s easy for Disingenuous Turds to trick People who are ready to Debate&Discuss things seriously into responding? Yeah, it sure is real easy to get somebody who gives a shit about the Boygenius OCT 31 2023 Hollywood Bowl Poster Shirt What’s more,I will buy this World to start talking about bullshit in it that they don’t like and want to fix. “I’ve carefully constructed my own idea on what religion is while ignoring the content of the book that spawned it, I expect you to ignore all of the evil it’s used for because that’s not MY religion and shouldn’t be considered inherent to the faith even though the book tells them to behave that way. I expect you to cater to my worldview while people that may or may not be worse than me actively restrict your rights and the rights of others on the grounds that my religion finds it abhorrent. Any challenges to my belief is automatically bigotry born of ignorance even though those things ARE in the book and believed by many”

If you believe that religion being a widespread tool that can do good, despite needing just a few bad guys to make it harmful, and that we should keep it around, I’d like your take on gun control. He means that people deriding religion have only a surface-level understanding of it. Funny thing is, he literally is only operating on the Boygenius OCT 31 2023 Hollywood Bowl Poster Shirt What’s more,I will buy this surface level in his comment, so he set that as the playing field. If he’d said anything actually specific, people would have probably responded with obscure history and influential, yet all-but-forgotten events that shaped how we view things today. You know, discourse. NO okay because I saw this on a religious meme page on facebook (everybody in my circle uses it) and I commented “see what I mean”, expecting people will jump in and start a comment chain (obviously I didn’t think about the fact that it’s not reddit), but then religious people started agreeing with me and I’m like “oh no” I meant it sarcastically but okay I won’t stir this pot. Either ways, I’ll pray for you. Not out of disrespect or anything, and not for your conversion, as I myself had my time in atheism. I’ll pray for your well-being, and I’ll pray so that people respect your decision. Truly (at least in Christianity) we are in a religion which main idea is to serve others and be kind to others, and at times that’s the least we do.
