My mum did a percentage, think it was like 30% maybe (it was a few years ago)? I was a freelancer, so it meant I didn’t ever struggle as if I earned fuck all I paid fuck all. Why don’t you sit them both down and go through the Bored At Work Stationery Cupboard Peep Show Meme shirt in addition I really love this household budget/bills/food bills and ask them what they think they could contribute. Be a great lesson in house hold budgeting i don’t understand why some parents charge their children rent at all. if my parents were struggling for rent they’d rather work extra hours than ask their children for rent. of course it is decent to offer money to ur parents for rent but I don’t see how any parent would expect it from their child if they want the best opportunities for them to save up for theirselves I used to pay the council tax which was £150ish, and the internet bill because my parents didn’t use the internet at the time (this was from 2009 so sorta pre smart TVs/streaming too).

Honestly if I had kids right now I wouldn’t charge them anything but their costs and only that if I needed it. Tough fuckin times to get ahead right now, especially for the Bored At Work Stationery Cupboard Peep Show Meme shirt in addition I really love this youth, let them live with as little financial responsibilities to the family as you can possibly as long as they’re working to move ahead in life. Keep the family together and strong. I say this as someone who’s been paying keep since I was 14. My dad charged me £250 pm, have to be honest I didn’t like it at the time but didn’t complain as had enough to do what I wanted… when I came to buy my house he said here is £21k to add to your deposit… turns out the old man invested the money I gave him, only to give it back when I bought my first house… what I legend, I am very lucky! Taught me many lessons at once by doing that!
