You are missing the Bon Jovi 40th anniversary 1983 2023 thank you for the memories signature shirt but in fact I love this point of a union. You don’t quit, you make the bosses pay you better or they lose a ton of money due to a strike. Especially with a defense contractor, there’s not many scabs walking around with security clearance. Except for the fact that the big product is already ready to go out the door so they seem to have lost the leverage. Possibly tech support will be needed to implement and maintain the end product. A strike would certainly hamper that support. Do you really think they have one contract and then just shut the business down? I’m not a defense contractor, but pretty sure that’s not how it works. Compartmentalization of information and government secrecy is a thing. Bet they’re not allowed to even talk with other teams about work. Oh, you should definitely have it in your contract. The employees get a cut of any bonus the company receives, especially when the bonus is based directly on YOUR productivity If the technicians aren’t gonna get a bonus for delivering early, then you might as well ignore what management wants and just deliver on time boss tells me its billed at 25 hours and if i need more time I’ll get reprimanded and have to explain to him and potentially his boss why i need more time than billed.

My husbands job is like this. He gets a quarterly bonus. The more the Bon Jovi 40th anniversary 1983 2023 thank you for the memories signature shirt but in fact I love this money company makes, the bigger his bonus is. The only downside is the opposite is also true. During Covid when business was the slowest it has ever been he didn’t get a bonus at all. The company he works for makes industrial chillers, the more they sell the bigger his bonus is. Ya, the bonus promise can be used as a way to convince employees to take on lower wages. It doesn’t sound that bad on paper, but what makes it ridiculous is that the “bonus based on profit” usually only applies to the employees. Sometimes, even when the company suffers the kinds of loses that would result in the employees losing their bonuses, the executives at the top will STILL get their bonuses. And sometimes the reason for the company’s poor performance may even be because of decisions made by the executives.
