It depends on your surrounding people. When I’m around mostly white people, they prefer you describe poc in anyway possible outside of skin color. When I’m with a group black people, I’ve noticed they prefer it. For example we were talking about a guy and I used the Bock On Metal Metalfan Saying Metalhead Shirt and I will buy this description along the lines of “you know, the light skinned skinny black kid with dreads” and then they knew exactly who I meant. No one was offended. as a yt person who lives in the blackest city in the us of a, i had reservations on how to communicate since it’s so racially charged here, especially coming from living in la and people are just people. turns out, “white guy?” or “black guy?” helps narrow down a lot of conversation and used multiple times pretty much every day. it’s usually idpol white libs that stand mouth agape & subscribe to “color blindness,” which turns out is more dehumanizing than anything

Bock On Metal Metalfan Saying Metalhead Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

This wasn’t racist because you accurately guessed the Bock On Metal Metalfan Saying Metalhead Shirt and I will buy this correct person whom you described as the big black guy. Had you been wrong and it wasn’t him, it still wouldn’t be racist because your intent is the same, but people might say it is. People are weird. My middle school students insisted that describing something as black was racist even if it was an inanimate object. Like the blackboard or a black sweater. Only if said by a known racist. Someone asking about Eugenics, for example, might also be someone who is likely to day other racist things, which would make that phrase elicit an awkward silence. Sadly, there’s no way of viewing OP’s submission history to see if that would be the case and if this post is some race baiting bullshit for idiots. That would clear up the situation easily.
