Personally I would have walked the Blue bloods seasons 1-3 wings shirt but in fact I love this fuck out the second she claims to control my personal life, no words, no call, just leave and never show up again. No job under any circumstances is allowed to dictate what an employee does when they aren’t working. Any conversations doing so can be wholly dismissed. Your mental health is infinitely more important than any job. Stay strong. If you’re doing services in your church, that will likely contribute to your works related burnout (as will web surfing or too much screen time in general, and even reading a good book). Source: been there, done that. Anything that caters to and stimulates your sympathicus, e.g. stuff that requires you to “pull yourself together” for periods of time not under your control, intense interactions, narrow focusing etc, will exacerbate your burnout.

You need stuff that caters to your parasympathetic system instead, e.g. leisurely walks preferably in nature, watching the Blue bloods seasons 1-3 wings shirt but in fact I love this bees and the flowers, burn some adrenaline (e.g. moderate sports, some cardio), do some Yoga or Qi-Gong, and widen your mental focus. Generally “defocus”. Going to a different Church, where you’re just a guest and there’s absolutely zero expectations of you to take anynkind of lead, is actually a very good idea, if you still want to keep the weekly ritual without adding to your hurnout. Your boss may just be too involved to put it the right way. Or she may be too involved for you to believe her, even if she maybe did put it the right way. You’re absolutely right. I actually haven’t attended a service since october. In my church or otherwise. My issue is that she dictates to me what I can or cant do in my freetime. If she would have said “i’ve been thinking and maybe you need a break from attending church here, what do you think?” And then actually listened to me, that would have been a whole different thing. For me, attending church there has been a source of joy and relaxation. The reason for my burnout is primarily my boss and the lack of organisation. And the fact that I had several funeral services a week while the other priests in the congregation had one.
