If you were leaving, you’d have given notice. You haven’t, so you aren’t. Not sure they’d bother giving oxygen to a rumor, and wouldn’t think they’d feel the Blink-182 World Tour Bridgestone Arena Nashville TN July 16 2023 Shirt Apart from…,I will love this need to deal with an issue they don’t have. This actually happened to me. I was spotted at a career fair which my company at the time didn’t have a booth. I was there as support for a recent graduate and helping them through the process. I would email everyone an obituary of myself, include a nice song in the background and then show up the next day as if nothing happened. The best way is to position yourself to be in front of management and praise the company or them and your role. Be vocal and positive. Story from when I sold cars. My buddy went with his other coworker to apply to another dealership. The boss found out and fired them both the next day, cars sales is weird tho. Managers have giant fucking egos in this industry. They’ll fire just to save face so that way they can tell the other sales guys that they fired them instead of saying they quit because the dealership is run like shit. Mention to your boss that you are appreciative for having this job and you want to be successful here. You want to make sure you’re both on the same page. I would go straight to my boss and tell them what you’ve heard and tell them you have no intention of leaving. I would list off 3 to 5 key benefits of why are you like working there. To reinforce your point. Then I will type up that same conversation in an email and send it to your boss. Then I would find one or two friends that are also in the company and I would start a whisper campaign that you’re not intending to leave the company and you’re very happy looking forward to your next big opportunity, a promotion, growing in your career in that organization. If there is ever any rumor about anything going around your place of work, ideally, you should find a better place to work.

It depends on industry and employer. I know certain industries and companies will proactively fire people looking for jobs. If that’s your case, get in front of it. Call a meeting with your boss and let him know what’s up. Polish up your resume just in case. If you get a single write up or anything star submitting it and preparing ASAP because it’s coming. Update your resume, act oblivious, and do nothing. See what management does. If they start treating you like shit or put you on a PIP performance improvement plan it is time to move on. If they start treating you better or asking probing questions about how you doing they value you, and working somewhere that values you is worth more than money in some scenarios.
