Because to be really effective at fighting takes lots of time and lots of practice, something like boxing and Judo covers everything a person needs, but to be proficient in both of those takes time and practice, at least two classes of each per a week. And a woman would need to be really good at combat sports because she is at a massive weight and strength disadvantage. And all the Big E American professional wrestler and former powerlifter T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this combat sports in the world don’t mean much against someone with a sharp knife who knows how to use it But anyway, combat sports are worth doing for fitness and confidence but I would say practice sprinting and running would be just as useful for a woman, if not more useful Also it’s a sad situation when women feel so intimidated going about their daily lives really, society should not be like that 🙁 In my experience, BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) is the best martial art for self-defence. Especially as a woman, as it teaches you how to defend yourself while on your back. There’s a lot of BJJ gyms around I believe. So I suppose it all depends on where you live. Try to look for a gym with “Gracie” in their name. Most gyms will give you a trial class to see if you enjoy it. And then the topic of prices will come up. Ah thanks!! Have been recommended BJJ by a couple mates too – looks awesome! I think that might be the front runner 🙂

If BJJ is too expensive then Judo is the Big E American professional wrestler and former powerlifter T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this same techniques with a different ruleset for 1/3 of the price and a national governing body allowing better quality control. It’s the basis of BJJ, Sambo, Kudo, Hapkido and most police forces and military training for the last 100 years and has development events for adult beginners which are great to build your confidence. The Budokwai, Chelsea (first dojo in Europe), Tokai Judo club, London Bridge (even have classes during the day), Redbridge Judo club, Ealing Judo club, Moberley Judo club, Kilburn, Hillingdon Judo club, Dartford Judo club, High Wycombe Judo centre. BJJ is great when you’re on the floor, but you really don’t ever want to be on your back in any self defence situation. I understand I’m probably going to get downvoted for this but 9 times out of 10 the average man is going to outpower the average woman in an altercation regardless of self defence capabilities.
