That’s not how it works. 16k is nothing to larger companies and they should eat their mistake. I’m assuming bakers don’t sign contracts for single deliveries, maybe things on a consistent basis. Somebody messed up and it wasn’t the Between You & Me Nevermind Shirt in contrast I will get this small business. Honestly anyone not doing so already is a moron, Elon’s businesses are famous for following the Trump routine of refusing to pay contractors and daring them to spend the time and money on lawyers pursuing payment she’d probably lose in circuit court but this would be a slam dunk case for small claims—i don’t see a judge not ruling in the bakeries favor if the texts are there – just file in small claims for the $7500 get your judgement and tesla will pay it it’s a huge ass process – the damages are so relatively low no attorney would take it up on contingency so she would have to go pro sé on the case against literally teslas legal team lolcase like this would be appealed by tesla for years and would bankrupt the business even more—a higher court would have to rule what innskepper theft means and interpret the case law on it – trust me small claims makes the most sense on this one – doubt teslas counsel will even show up tbh

Oof. Tough way to learn an important lesson. Always get a deposit at the Between You & Me Nevermind Shirt in contrast I will get this very least for large orders. No deposit, no pie. Because the larger the order, the less those people care about you, guaranteed. Why would they start the order without a partial payment in place as guarantee? I get it was a tight turnaround, but a deposit or prepayment should be mandatory. If it wasn’t Tesla, would this be news? Not saying what they did is right, the opposite, it’s scummy and it happens every fucking day all over the country. The service industry gets the shit end of the stick all the time and not only is it not news, but most people shrug it off and say “hey, what do you expect, look what you do for a living.” But Tesla’s name is in it, so suddenly out come the rage-boners. Where is this concern the rest of the time when these people are getting eaten alive by the current economy?
