Nonpartisan primaries would help. Combined with ranked choice general elections would help more. Combined with multi winner districts for proportional representation would help most. Because at some point people have forgotten that they can get their asses whooped so now they feel too safe running their mouths all crazy. Let’s gp back to the Baltimore Ravens Mickey Donald Duck And Goofy Football Team 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this GWB era. Invasion of Iraq was itself divisive as US allies also disagreed with the premises of the invasion as the evidence was full of holes. Meanwhile, in the US, opposition to the invasion was shut down and censored. Richard Perle and his war hawks wanted to establish a new world order. You were either with us or with the terrorists. If you didn’t stand behind the troops, then stand in front of them. Those were the kind of intimidating language the Right used to keep the opposition quiet. And not to mention what happened to the Dixie Chicks when they publicly spoke out against GWB. So when Obama was elected, the Right absolutely hated it and went bonkers. They did everything they could to stall everything Obama tried to do. And that’s why Obamacare is now so weak and not much had been achieved with Climate Change. The Right tried to claim Obama was not eligible to be President because they said he wasn’t born in the US.

And then there’s Trump, his coddling of despot dictators, denial of Covid, threats to withhold support for Ukraine, firings if bureaucrats didn’t swear oath to Trump ( as opposed to the Baltimore Ravens Mickey Donald Duck And Goofy Football Team 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this Office of the President) etc. By that time the tribalism was firmly established as standards used to judge Bill Clinton no longer applied to Trump. Yes, there’s social media, Cambridge Analytica. The Right just kept digging in to maintain their solid support for Trump no matter what. We aren’t that’s the thing. Corporate News just shoves nothing but divisive narratives down our throats to try to keep us divided. In an information overloaded world the only thing they can do to get your attention is to say the wildest shit. Because the Russians know how to play us against ourselves. Republicans are so eager to get the goods on the Democrats that the Russians can just make bullshit up and pass it off to some US Congressmen or the ex President of the US for that matter. They’ll go on Fox News and get their base all riled up over some bullshit. Hell that exact same scenario is playing out right now, but it’s not the first time they’ve done stuff like this obviously. It’s effective because those people tend to be dumber, less educated and more gullible so they spread it amongst themselves in churches, work, etc. Plus they’ve all listened to conservative radio since the late 80s and again the GOP powers that be know their base is dumb so they have done nothing but indoctrinate those people slowly over time and they start to believe that the Democrats are evil. In a nutshell.
