True. I think it came down to the Baby Yoda I Hate It When Coworkers Act Like Supervisors Please Act Your Wage Shirt moreover I will buy this chokehold that the three networks had on TV. For years all we had down in FL was ABC / CBS / NBC, along with PBS. Our only independent channel went off the air for about 4 years in the late 70s, so basically there were only 3 options to choose from. Couple that with Nielsen ratings, and networks likely knew what shows and stars meant higher ratings. Bob Hope probably had an NBC contract because that’s where all his shows were. His appeal was wide, and even I would watch him because he came to our Navy Base in 1971 and entertained us; so there was a personal connection that a lot of other people either in the military or military dependents probably shared. Maybe, but this scene was already old and dated when it was originally broadcasted. The Lucy Show was meant to appeal to the older generation that watched The Lawrence Welk show on Sunday evenings, at a time when changing tastes were trending both younger and iconoclastic. By way of example, Monty Python’s Flying Circus had been on TV for two years when this episode aired. That was simply a function of broadcast TV “decency” standards. Which is why everything before 10pm was a god awful sitcom.

Not necessarily, I’m an old person and some of the Baby Yoda I Hate It When Coworkers Act Like Supervisors Please Act Your Wage Shirt moreover I will buy this post-10pm shows were tame compared to today. Miami Vice, ER, St Elsewhere. I remember being scandalized by Silk Stalkings! I just passed 50. The only thing I really struggle with is recovery from a New Years eve party, or some other random event where I have more than 5 drinks. Hangovers seem to linger for days. Otherwise I don’t feel a lick different than 30. My dad is 79 and we were both up on my roof fixing a gutter last month. Some of it depends on the activity itself. I’m just 46 but I’ve spent years welding, doing millwright jobs, and heavy factory work. I’ve got a few other health issues that don’t help either, but throwing 150 bundles of rubber for 8 to 12 hours a day in a tire factory did a number on a lot of my joints and back. I’m still active 9 times out of 10 but it’s a much lower impact kind of active nowadays. I wish I could take back the years I lost to job sites and the factory but I worked those jobs so my kids could have better chances than me so it was a fair exchange. It would be great to feel like I was 25 or 30 again though.
