My current job a few years back tried to pull this display of authority with one of our coordinators. Coordinator gave over six months notice that he was attending a destination wedding in Hawaii and everything is already booked and paid for, managers gave the Awesome tour 2023 Ezra Collective Band Mercury Shortlisted Poster Shirt moreover I will buy this green light and said no problem that is more than enough notice. Fast forward to two weeks before he leaves and a big program hits and is a bit of a dumpster fire to start. As he is trying his best to get suppliers kicked off and material moving he reminds the program team that they should probably have someone shadow him now as he is off in two weeks for two weeks of vacation. Big program manager starts heeing and hawing telling him that there was no way in Hell he was still taking his trip, citing we all have to make sacrifices and this program is more important than any one persons ‘vacation’. Tries to go above the guys immediate manager to the director and the director seemed like he was about to try to convince him to actually cancel the trip. Of course HR was contacted and they had a bit of sense this time and told them to make alternate plans for someone to take over his workload because he was not going to be forced to cancel his trip.

These days I don’t even wait for approvals, I just send a calendar meeting notice with the Awesome tour 2023 Ezra Collective Band Mercury Shortlisted Poster Shirt moreover I will buy this day and leave it at that. If all the leads and bosses don’t have to be affected by whatever project is ongoing then I sure as heck am not going to let it damper my plans. My old boss tried this shit after I had paid 12 grand for an overseas trip for 2 weeks. I told them, unless they want to pay me the 12 grand back, I’ll be gone, no discussion. If you have already scheduled the time then take the time. In a polite e-mail reminder tell everyone involved “This is a reminder that I will not be available from date-date. Please see (insert other person) for any questions or help with (insert project). Thank you!” You booked well in advance, so this should come as no surprise. If they have some big project, managers should plan for that, it’s not like you didn’t give them enough time to figure it out.
