Others want more power. You usually don’t become rich by being nice. You become rich by tending to be sadistic or apathetic to others. Bernie Madoff talked about this with his ponzi scheme. He was like “I had enough money but I couldn’t stop.” It’s almost like an addiction. They want to accumulate more. Think about it. You could never work another day in your life if you had $10 million. You could very easily life off of stock market gains annually with $10million dollars and still love a very nice upper middle class lifestyle with how much money you would make a year just on investments and not even see that $10 million decrease. Or they see that person who has $20mil and decide they want what they have.
