Some of them actually enjoy the Awesome avatar The Last Airbender Cabbage Merchant Panels Shirt also I will do this game! Like you, I can’t wrap my head around it. But I have some relatives who own companies or are corporate executives who could EASILY retire on what they have now and they, their kids, and grand kids would never have to work a day in their Iives. But they continue to grind out 60 to 80 hour work week because it’s what they love. They get a thrill from it. And they can’t imagine walking away. They are like “what would I do all day long?” Most extremely wealthy people are not working. They keep a title to maintain some prestige and air of ethic, but they have assistants and managers getting everything done. Most of these guys are just speaking at meetings and occasionally giving feedback on large plans. If they are getting involved it’s for networking opportunities maybe large scale mergers. Long and short, most of these people are working hard so that they don’t have to work hard. They can keep up the prestige and make money passively while doing nothing. The end of the game isn’t even stopping work, it’s getting to stop work and still pretend to everyone else you’re working hard.

Because they’re families typically pressure them into “keeping up with the Awesome avatar The Last Airbender Cabbage Merchant Panels Shirt also I will do this jones’s”. Wealth is generational. Power is not something people just walk away from. It’s like poison. Even though they know the game is screwing them up, they still can’t get out. A big part of it is generational wealth. Most old money is locked into families that behave like a firm. They’re an institution with rules in protecting the wealth of the family and perpetuating it through the generations. Assets generate income and there are legal means to protect assets and stop descendants from liquidating everything until they are the ones in charge. By then they usually understand the point of all the rules. But some still manage to spunk it all.
