I don’t want to go through the ordeal of pregnancy, childbirth and then having to devote my life to a child. I’m annoyed enough by my cat sometimes. Also a child is difficult even if you want it. Two of my friends recently had children after having both really wanted to have kids and they are EXHAUSTED. There are so many unexpected struggles and it was really hard for them. I like kids in general but have no desire to have them especially in a health care system that would rather see me die then provide help if needed also, I grew up witnessing financial struggle and limited resources. I saw a relationship based on requirement and there was very little happiness. I can say I may be open to adopting one day but that’s if I have decided to live more sedentary then I am now.

I value my alone time and would become frustrated very quickly if I didn’t have access to it. I want to focus on a career and building a life for myself and my partner. I want the Autism support educate advocate heart awareness T-Shirt and by the same token and financial freedom to pursue things I enjoy for the sake of enjoying them. I hate public attention / embarrassment/ second hand embarrassment. I wouldn’t be able to provide them with the parenting they deserve. I like kids I just dont want them around me 24/7 365 I’m not anti-child so much as anti-natalist. But I feel so many people have a negative association with anti natalism when, for me at least, it is out of compassion and empathy. That’s what I do and because I want to do that, well that’s the reason for not having kids. Of course it is more complex, timing, partner, money, etc. The main reason probably is a simple “because I just don’t want to have any”. I’m not patient and after a while i feel like I’d be a little mean and i wouldn’t want to put a kid through that. Im good with other kids but i feel like it’d be a different story if i had my own.
