Not to say I didn’t learn from them, just that they really didn’t know as much as I’d assumed they did when I was a kid. I was in maybe 15 when i had pneumonia, i thought it was just a cold or something, apparently had it for about a week at this point, and i distincly remember i was sitting in french class and suddenly it hit me, like a brick i felt like i was dying, couldn’t breathe, couldnt see very well, it was all blurry, and my chest hurt. Toughed it out till the end of the class mainly because i was just scared and didnt know what was happening. Went to the nurse and she called me a liar, said i hurt myself playing sports/i was faking it to get out of class. She wouldn’t even let me call home, i had no cellphone yet, luckily another kid was there and let me use his. I called my mom, all while the nurse was screaming at me to put the phone down, phones arent allowed, stop faking it and get to class. Yeah i went straight to the er and found out it was pneumonia and my left lung was scarred to hell. Doc had no idea how I was walking around all week. I have no idea why it got so bad so fast. The only thing we all do know is that school nurse should be fired, maybe from her job, maybe from a cannon.

They’re common where I live, so good to know! The red line is sepsis could be infectious lymphangitis, which can lead to sepsis, and it’s possible from any break in the skin. Necrotic spider bites get infected pretty easily, though. Should be clarified that red line does not necessarily mean sepsis. If you get a red line on your skin you’ll regardless probably want to get it checked but if you otherwise have no other symptoms, it isn’t sepsis. My cat bit me once on the hand and I ended up with the red line going up my arm. I went to urgent care and got some penicillin and it went away pretty quickly. Cats have really dirty mouths.
