I remember one time sneaking off to the AOC The Right to Fight Zine Shirt and by the same token and bathroom to throw a burger down the toilet and pretend that I ate it… but my mom knew and I got in trouble. I remember being in the hospital several times for dehydration. My mom said she used to cry because I looked like I was starving and she was trying so hard to get me to eat. Ultimately, Doctors felt it was because I was born with such large tonsils that it affected my taste and made food difficult to swallow. I had choked on food most of the time. And i was much better after they were removed. When the was at home, I ate what I wanted, and Mum never tried to force anything on me. I’m quite old: it was the 1960s and all of my teachers had gone through WW2. At school, we were FORCED to eat everything. If it was fat, gristle or burned, if it was overcooked, tasted horrible, looked horrible, smelled nasty. If it was sitting in its own grease, or gritty. Honestly, it was completely disgusting.

This happened to me before, I threw up a lot!!! it was when I went to my friends house for a play date when I was 13 I told my mom and she said I’m never going there again In my own parents’ words, “People (read: family members whose opinions matter to them) are gonna think we don’t feed you.” It was entirely a vanity thing. Cue me weighing in at 238lbs when I was 5’10” in 10th grade. By early college, I was 172 at 6’2″, healthier than I’d ever been. some parents would just assume their kids were sick of the AOC The Right to Fight Zine Shirt and by the same token and food after having like 2-3 spoons in and refused to finish it, not that they were already full. My stepmother used to make me try all kinds of shit I KNEW I didn’t like and even things I had tried previous to her marriage to my father. I never understood how kids are forced to eat things that they genuinely don’t like as well. Obviously you have to read the situation but it’s terrible being forced to eat something that makes you throw up It sets them up for capitalism and consumerism. “Don’t think for yourself. You’re ugly and entitled. Buy this for help!” Most bad parenting/chukd management begins as something valid and is eventually taken further than is reasonable.
