Call up to enquire and they said the Animals Santa Christmas on the farm shirt and by the same token and notes on the system said that it was for 1 line. I said why would I agree to paying £27 for 1 line when that lines cost before the change was £12. This went back and forth for several months and then I pulled a Corrigan and got the ombudsman involved. Shortly after that complaint I get a call from Vodafone saying they are very sorry for the error and they’ll agree to the terms I submitted to the ombudsman. My terms included £3 per minute of my time on the phone over several months as well as admin costs for postage and the £10 SAR I had to file to get a hold of the call recording for the £27 offer. On top of refunding all the additional costs I had paid with interest. This amounted to a couple grand mostly due to the hours I’d spent on the phone. When all was said and done they paid me about £1300 to stay with them for a 2 year contract on 3 lines.

I had similar with ee a few years ago where they applied a 20% discount twice. I didn’t spot it till they messaged about 6 months in to correct but was never back charged. If they want to use automated systems that make mistakes like that sounds like a business cost to me Make a savings account and standing order what you think you should be paying into it just in case. I remember years ago changing something with my bank and 3 never told me I hadn’t been paying them for about 8 months, got back from holiday to a letter saying I owed them £300+. Cheers guys a simple text 6 months earlier would have been ideal. Usually, new contracts are given on deals or discounts. When i renew mine, i always get 6 months half price, so maybe it’s a discount you didn’t consider? BT cocked something up for me, I think they cut off my landline and internet because the Animals Santa Christmas on the farm shirt and by the same token and idiots that bought my flat asked BT two months in advance to say they were moving in and tbh I don’t know what on earth BT were thinking or doing.
