If you’re worried about the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this social aspect, just say you’re not that into it. And continue to have fun with your friends anyways even though you aren’t drinking. They won’t really care and some might even find it an appealing characteristic that you know what your values are. Probably. But it does really come with the territory for a lot of socialization. And Whisk(e) , Bourbon, Rum, Cocktails can be really delicious. Best bet is not to drink to get drunk: have a limit of 2 drinks a night and only drink at social gatherings. But it’s ok to have a nice bottle of whiskey to have as a great sometimes. Or at least put it off for a few years. I think starting drinking while your prefrontal cortex is developing might be a thing to avoid. I’m no scientist, it just kinda makes sense to me. I personally didn’t start drinking in any real way until my mid-20s or so, not out of any moral choice, I just didn’t like the stuff and had good friends who didn’t pressure me. The drinking that college students do, it always struck me as being toddler-like. Mostly impulse and not real enjoyment.

No it isn’t a bad idea not to drink. Don’t be afraid to try it with a parent or a friend but in general it’s a good habit to not be chuggin that shit anyways. Especially in high school. Stay away from that shit at all costs then, it’s just better for you that way. It really depends on the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this individual. Personally I don’t enjoy drinking and never did. I’ll occasionally drink a beer, but I have little to no desire to. I’d normally rather just drink water or a diet coke or something. For some people, it becomes a serious addiction though. If you’re not interested in doing it, I see no reason to try. I don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything. 22M here and I don’t drink. I’m also not a very extroverted person and so I was never really pressured to drink before I turned 18. My parents were also very responsible teaching me to be careful with alcohol so that’s another reason why I didn’t care for it. Now that I’m an adult I still don’t find it interesting and if my friends offer me some I just politely decline and that’s it. So no, you wouldn’t be lame if you don’t drink. You just have your preference and that’s it. If you do drink at some point just be careful not to go overboard and if you go out with friends don’t let them pressure you into drinking if you don’t want to.
If I could give 18 year old me two pieces of advice, the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this most important would be don’t drink and don’t smoke. I’m 43 now, 3.5 years sober and 2 months smoke free. There’s a good 20 years of my life that I barely remember except when my lungs remind me and I’m now paying the price in all ways for both. Since then, the most I have is a glass of wine. Maybe two if it’s really good stuff, but that’s very rare. I have, on average, one drink or so a month. Would really depend on your personality. I’m 26 now and I feel like I’d have missed out on so fun if I never started drinking. To me it’s totally worth it. I come from a family full of alcoholics. Many of them have passed way before their time. I drank too much in my 20’s (I’m 72 now), but made the decision to end that cycle in my own household.

About All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt
Mocktails are huge now, so just go with a mocktail if you want a fancy but non-alcoholic drink. I didn’t really drink until I moved to Colorado and discovered the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this joy of craft beer. I like a cocktail now and then but honestly, if I’m going to drink something caloric, I’d rather just have a regular Coke unless I’m celebrating a special occasion. If I want to relax and socialize with some form of drug, I far prefer cannabis (especially now that a lot of strains don’t give me the munchies). Cannabis also helps a lot with my chronic pain and insomnia, whereas alcohol does not. Other benefits of not drinking: You don’t get bloated. Your skin looks better. Your organs stay healthier. You save a lot of money. You never have to worry about getting a DUI or making other drunken mistakes. You won’t embarrass yourself by blurting out stupid crap because you’re drunk. You won’t puke your guts out. You won’t get hungover.
If you think you have an addictive personality, then take care to do everything in moderation. Not just alcohol but gambling, sex, and even shopping. Keep a journal of what you do and how you feel the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this next day, and then use that data to inform your choices moving forward. It’s expensive, addictive, and can lead to serious problems. You don’t wanna be one of those that turns to booze when things don’t go right. Challenge yourself to be able to talk to people while they are drinking, it’s not too hard, order a drink that looks like a cocktail and you can blend right in. It’s mostly just social but you can do the social aspects without doing the drunk aspect i smoke weed but never wanted to drink. never saw the appeal and i’m not throwing my life away just cause kids in my college think it’s fun to wake up feeling like shit every morning
You’re going to thank yourself down the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this road when you still have your health and money. If you don’t feel it, then don’t do it. 71 more repliesI was like you in 1981. My mom was alcoholic in recovery. Been sober ever since. Still don’t understand why people think happiness is in a bottle. It’s expensive and if it starts to control you, it gets out of control fast. I remember waking up every day sick and always tasting the liquor from the night before for rest of the day until I drank more that night. I got to the point that I didn’t get drunk anymore, just drank a liter of tequila every other day by myself to deal with life while maintaining a so called normal life. Now I just choose to not drink even socially because I am aware that it will cause me problems. To each their own, no judgement to those who can drink without issues and enjoy themselves. If you know it’s not for you then just avoid it. Your future self will thank you!
I never started. In my 30s now, and I’ve never been drunk even once. Who knows how much money I’ve saved. It also helps that I think drunk people are genuinely a nuisance and annoying to be around. I can’t stand it. Alcohol is 100% not worth it. I’m 36F, I started drinking at 23 (it’s legal where I live at 18, but I was never really interested in it until I was around 23 years old). I started working in bars around the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this same time & my drinking went from periodic to frequent (par for the course if you work in the industry). I was never dependent on alcohol, but I did drink more than the average person for a lot of years & can say with absolute confidence that at its best… it’s an expensive way to have fun (when you could have the same amount of fun without it if you’re with the right people). Important to remember that alcohol is a group 1 carcinogen… along with tobacco, asbestos and radiation. The World Health Organization has stated that virtually no amount of alcohol is safe to consume.
Then I started going to school drunk. I carried a flask of vodka in high school and probably reeked of it in class. I thought I was cool, but I definitely should’ve just hung out with better people. I felt dependent on it and like it was a gift I could enjoy every day. But again, couldn’t handle it like normal people which I didn’t realize. Not drinking has been the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this best decision I’ve ever made. I was depressed when I drank. I’d SH and cry while drinking alone in my room as if it was a fun activity. I’d probably be dead if I stayed that way. Not drinking saves you so much money, and gives you excuses to get tasty drinks like soda or coffee instead. You get to ‘treat yourself’ or even reward yourself for not getting alcohol. You get to be on a bit of a high horse too. Being sober is like being vegan or doing CrossFit lol. Keeping track of sobriety gives you bragging rights and reaching your goals makes you happy. It’s a huge achievement. Don’t do it buddy. There are zero upsides to drinking. If you want to be more relaxed and know how to talk to people, you just need to practice. Spend money on Toastmasters if you’re nervous talking to people.
Basically, if you’re not into it, that’s actually really good. Your friends should accept that you don’t drink. There is a mountain of evidence to suggest that very bad drinking problems are largely genetic so look at your family history and make decisions accordingly. 34-year-old here who doesn’t like to drink either. Your brain cells will thank you for it, and your liver will love you forever. Don’t be another drone that slowly gets dumber every day just because society says you should be drinking like everyone else. It’s not a great idea. The benefits to risks math just does not work out. Best case scenario you drink “normally”. It will probably be fun for a while. However, even at that level alcohol increases your risk of heart disease and cancer. In the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this worst case scenario you could become addicted. In which case you would do even more harm to your body, and probably ruin your life in the process. It’s a lose lose situation.
I could have had just as much fun sober as I had drinking. More perhaps, since I could have driven and maybe remembered more the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this next day. Not to mention feeling better the next day. It messes with sleep, and as a man who has had sleep problems since I was in my 20s, let me tell you sleep is valuable. There are so many more reasons to avoid alcohol than there are to drink it. Two years ago, I began cutting back on my drinking and I can already tell you I’m feeling better physically and mentally, overall. I’m looking forward to getting back to my pre-drinking-days self. It may be considered lame by those that love to party. But those aren’t your friends right? And you don’t have that interest in common so who cares right? There’s plenty of ppl out there that have as little interest in drugs or drink as you…lame tho they may be. (I’m kidding…sorta. Sorry I’m one of those that likes to party)
If I could take back every $$$ I’ve spent on drinks and instead invested it. I wouldnt be having a hard time getting a downpayment for a home. If you know how to have fun without drinking. Then I would say do it. You don’t need alcohol to enjoy apending time with friends or having fun. Wish I knew this when I was 18. Now I’m 30. Yup; don’t do it. There’s no real payoff in the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this end….you can kill time and socialize over a Pepsi just as easily as a gin and tonic. Particularly if you feel like the addictive part of you is there, this is an important self-awareness to pay attention to! And one most folks your age are not even remotely aware of; so good on ya. I’ll keep it a buck, don’t do anything you don’t want too. I barely partied when I was younger and I don’t drink often aside from partying it up last year every weekend, but that’s because I was in the right place in my life to have some fun(27 years old, make good money, bills paid and living comfortable). If you do choose to be responsible and do it when YOU’RE ready around GOOD people who will watch your back and make sure you don’t do anything stupid.
Avoid booze. There are zero benefits to drinking. Wish I have never started. You are healthier, you save money and you aren’t missing anything. Just tell people you don’t drink, good people will respect it, and those that dont, you don’t want them around . Don’t do something YOU don’t want to do. However, if you do decide to drink, ask if you can drink with your parents or someone you trust in a low threat environment to get a feel for it. It’s what I did. I learned really quick that 2-3 drinks was acceptable and sometimes enjoyable, 4-6 is borderline, and anything more than that in a night was a mistake. It helps to understand and stick to your own boundaries if you do it in a safe space first.
Yes, you’ll be a bit of an outcast if you don’t. That goes double for your 20s and 30s. And alcohol really kicks ass in moderation. But if that’s not what you wanna do, fuck it. Don’t let anyone give yiu shit about it. You’ll be missing out on a side of yourself you might really love, but the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this downside is that you may love it too much. Im 21 and have been an alcoholic since 18 but started at 14. If i could go back and change one thing about my life it would be to never drink. 3rd day sober today in over a year and hoping to stay clean What’s lame is doing things to appear a different way to others- sticking to who you are or want to be isn’t lame and people who shame you for doing things different to them just show you what a red flag they are as a friend. Be yourself, if you don’t want to drink, don’t; but don’t feel ashamed, it’s actually a strength most people don’t have.
Literally the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this best decision. I gave up alcohol this year at 39 and I’m so glad I did. Never liked it all that much anyway. I just didn’t want to be left out. Good for you! It’s definitely not lame. I used to drink A LOTTT in my teens & even at 20. I lost my brother when I was 21 due to his own alcoholism and I pretty much decided then & there that I was basically done with alcohol because it broke me to continue consuming the exact thing that had just taken my only blood sibling away from me. That was January 2009 and I don’t actually think I will ever recover from that. My husband also doesn’t drink because alcoholism runs in his family from his younger brother & dad. We’re both 36 1/2 now and we might drink once a year, if that. As of today’s date, neither of us has drank since New Year’s Day 2023. We don’t miss it, and we don’t feel like we’re missing out due to not drinking.
Yes. In my humble opinion, not starting a known addictive substance, that is otherwise a gasoline additive, is probably best not to start. Yes. It is a fantastic idea to not start drinking. Sobriety is not lame. What’s really lame is getting a DUI, getting arrested, crashing your car, accidentally getting someone pregnant, starting a fight and getting the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this shit kicked out of you, choking on your vomit, and paying a shit ton of money to engage in these fine activities. Like smoking, drinking can become habitual, bad for your health, and very expensive. Smoker of 20+ years, and daily drinker for the last 4+ years. Last year I was spending at least $350 a month on cigarettes, and alcohol a month. I get my stuff cheap, and drink at home. I have heard of smokers/drinkers spending upward of $500-700 a month. Public drinking is even more expensive. You risk gaining a lot of weight, and possibly high blood pressure. That’s the minimal health risks when you consider cancer is also a factor. I’m currently 46, having to diet, and ween myself of both smoking, and drinking. It’s hard as fuck. Don’t put yourself through it just to fit in.
To add another contrarian answer, the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this best thing to do is to not build up alcohol to be a giant decision to make. If you do, you’ll likely find yourself judging those who drink, even if you do not mean to. It’s also not something worth looking at alcoholics and basing your decision off their lives. There are a lot of repeated bad decisions between you and them. Don’t fall for peer pressure, just deal with it if you get bullied because those kids will definitely have some fuck ups down the live because of it. I’m ngl dude, in college like maybe 20% of my friend group, including myself, didn’t drink at all, there’s plenty of people who DONT DRINK period, be it health, religion, personal preference w.e. Plenty of reasons and they are all valid. My family has a history of alcohol abuse and substance problems which was part of my decision to not drink.
I chose not to it’s fine, nobody really cares that I don’t and tbh nobody really asks why when I say I don’t drink. Plus, if people are socially outcasting someone for Not Drinking they generally aren’t worth hanging out with tbh. Going out with my friends, I save a ton of money and usually my buddies pay for my food etc, when I go out with friends since I end up the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this DD, and get the homies home. Drinking in moderation, like many things is fine, and its an experience you may want to try sone day, but never hurts to wait, you might change your mind in a few years. As a 37 year old who has never even tried alcohol: it’s totally doable. Regret nothing, feel like I’ve missed out on nothing and people tell me that they wish they’d done the same thing all the time. If I could do it all over again the same way I totally would.
I’m a junior software engineer who recently became unemployed. I’m feeling quite depressed whilst job searching and would like some ideas of activities in London that won’t break the All I want for Christmas is full clears Shirt What’s more,I will buy this bank. If it helps, I’m a 29 year old male from SW London Edit: I wasn’t fired from my role, I voluntarily left due to intense toxicity within the team and being asked to do senior level tasks (with absolutely no support or anyone to assist me considering I’m a junior), whilst also being forced to work two roles at the same time. I know it seems silly to leave my job considering how tough the job market is atm but my mental health was completely f*cked from it In a similar situation myself. For me the gym has been really helpful in terms of helping me feel better and filling up some time. Otherwise I’m in the same boat and not sure what else to do so interested on what others suggest I hope you have better luck than I’m having. What kinda jobs are you looking for? Some people are suggesting gym and going museum and for walks which sound up my street. I stopped going gym a month ago but need to get back into it. I also wanna try bouldering but my friends are too lazy for it lol. Kinda wanna go out and meet new people but no idea how to go about it lol
