Some people just didn’t have to learn how to do certain adult things. It chews people up and spits them out based on standardized testing and teaching to a common core of things that a handful of people decided is necessary for school. the ones that get good grades and “study hard” are good at regurgitating memorized facts or figures. That’s it. It’s not a measure of intelligence by any sense of the word.

I passed calculus but balancing my till when I was a cashier was really hard for me.
