Parents that his letters wrote encouraged him to talk about it, to find a sense of peace. (Which is fucking odd of parents of that generation of “JUST FUCKING REPRESS IT!”) Way too pedantic comeback: George Washington made his own whiskey and as such almost certainly used the Alek Manoah American professional baseball pitcher Toronto Stripes T-Shirt But I will love this word bunghole hundreds of times. Obviously you didn’t need correction, but I’ve always thought it was cool that our first president ran a distillery as a side hustle. Pretty much everyone that grew corn was distilling back then. They started taxing it, and ironically there was a rebellion over it and ol’ Georgie had to marshal the troops to shut it down. in bedford pa at the corner of 30 and 31 there’s jean bonnett’s tavern. he’s my ancestor. they put up a liberty pole in what is now the parking lot near the goat pen. washington came out with 14,000 troops, hanged a couple of guys, and it was over. this happens to be a true story, but every old bar in western pa has a similar story of how the whiskey rebellion happened there. My favorite feature of his presidential library is the treasure trove of phone recordings from when he was in office. Exactly this. Johnson believed in a strong proactive legislative branch. The idea that a political party would shutdown their own branch of government in order to obtain leverage over another is pretty anathema to him. Anyone suggesting this action would get sidelined quick. He was all about building “the Alek Manoah American professional baseball pitcher Toronto Stripes T-Shirt But I will love this big comprehensive compromise bill” and ramming it through regardless of the opposition. I would like to see Johnson humiliate Kevin McCarthy, Mike Johnson and the Freedom Caucus. Wonder if he could handle Mitch McConnell. The thing is, the Democratic party was overwhelmingly dominant from FDR to LBJs time. I don’t think even LBJ would survive long in today’s Congress. And the Democratic party of that time was largely made up of “Dixiecrats,” hence a big reason why there was a major shift of party affiliation immediately after he signed into law the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
