As you have said he’s on meds and has access to support ( he can look online for additional support groups too). I have been in this position and stuck around for my bestie, but my advice is if it starts affecting YOU, then you bail immediately. Let him know why, and be clear that you will still be there if he chooses to come back (dont ghost, that’s spineless as fuck) but that its really taking its toll on you and you need to step back If you really care, talk to him. Tell him you can see he has problems and be there for him. Other than that, there’s not much you can do. I’d be hesitant to break it off completely, because it could affect him, but he is also not your responsibility and you need to focus on you. Try to strike a balance between looking out for yourself and being there for him when you’re able. Maybe take some perspective. You see this guy as dragging you down, but personally, I’d love a mate who’s always up for the Alec Burks American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons NBA T-Shirt Also,I will get this pub at my stage in life. I’ve got most of the “grown up” stuff sorted, own home, car, respectable enough job. As do most of my mates. But that itself is the issue, we are all too busy doing the grown up stuff to hang out and have a drink like we used to.

I went through a break up recently and it forced me to confront the Alec Burks American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons NBA T-Shirt Also,I will get this fact I’ve barely even seen any of my friends at all in years, because I was spending all my time between work, my partner, and just assuming that’s how it is past a certain point in life. But back to being single I suddenly realised “shit, what do I even do any more? Who even am I?” I suppose what I’m saying is you might regret burning the bridge one day, so give it thought. You can’t always help someone who doesn’t want to be helped, but giving up on them is another thing. On one hand, mental health. On the other, I also have a mate who still lives at home and his mum has a very, “Oh, he’ll move out when he’s ready, the little tyke.” Never mind he’s 6’4″ and in his 30s and has a good job but doesn’t contribute anything to the home. The reality is, much as I like her as a person, she simply didn’t set him up for success and let him grow up selfish, entitled and expecting her to wait on him hand and foot for life. For him, it’s an easy life free of any responsibility and while I’m sure it’s ultimately quite unfulfilling and probably does harm his mental health, he’s frankly got it too good to notice.
